Dear Rep,
Time limited offer
At a meeting of the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) Surrey Executive Committee (EC) last week [Wednesday 29th Sept a Temporary suspension of re-joining fee to individuals applying to re-join the FBU was agreed.
Â
Therefore:
Any individuals that wish to rejoin the FBU will need to follow the usual procedure, which includes having their branch find in favour of their application prior to being forwarded to the Surrey FBU EC via the Membership Secretary.Â
To avoid re-joining fees, the EC will need to have received these applications by 6th December 2010Â at the very latest.Â
Any applications received after this date will be subject of the normal rules that will incur re-joining fees.Â
To ensure all applications can be made in the timescale, we recommend that all branches hold their AGM's in November to allow any applications to be forwarded from those meetings to Nigel Burchell Brigade Membership Secretary (details below) by December 6th.Â
Any members that are at a branch without Station Reps, should forward their applications direct to Nigel Burchell. Those workplace branches also need to get Station Reps elected as soon as possible.Â
The Surrey Integrated Risk Management PlanA (also called Public Safety Plan) will be out for consultation at the end of November and most of you will have heard by now that it will propose massive reductions across the service.
Clearly we are in challenging times and facing huge detrimental cuts that will affect all sections of our membership.
There has never been a more important time to be united as one.Â
If your branch has non members please make them aware of this (very) temporary arrangement ASAP.Â
